The Role of the Board in AML/CFT Oversight: From Policy Approval to Culture Monitoring

Description

Effective AML/CFT oversight is a core board responsibility, extending far beyond policy sign-off. This session explores the board’s role in setting strategic direction, approving risk appetite, and ensuring alignment with global standards such as FATF and local regulatory expectations. It examines governance and oversight mechanisms, including committee structures, management information, and escalation frameworks, as well as how boards assess risk, allocate resources, and oversee key controls. Particular focus is given to culture and “tone from the top”, board-level competence, and emerging risks such as digital assets, sanctions, and operational resilience, equipping directors to move from formal compliance to meaningful, risk-based oversight.

This webinar provides one-hour of CPD and offers insights and updates from a leading industry-expert speaker.

Delegates places are interchangeable with colleagues from the same organisation.
