Head of Sustainable Investing Research at Morningstar Sustainalytics

Hortense Bioy 

Hortense Bioy, CFA, is Head of Sustainable Investing Research at Morningstar Sustainalytics. She leads the group’s ESG thought leadership research efforts with the objective of empowering investors with the data-driven and qualitative research they need to evaluate investments through an ESG and sustainability lens and make better informed investment decisions. Her team’s top-down insights also support the broader investment industry in understanding market trends and anticipating the fast-evolving ESG and sustainable finance landscape.

Based in London, Hortense joined Sustainalytics in May 2024 from Morningstar Manager Research, where she led sustainability research for six years, first in Europe and then globally. Previously, she led Morningstar’s European ETF research for eightyears.

Hortense joined Morningstar as an ETF analyst in 2010 from Bloomberg where she was a financial journalist. She began her career as an M&A analyst at Société Générale in Hong Kong.

 

Ceren Solak Yilmaz

Senior Manager, Sustainable Fixed Income at Morningstar Sustainalytics

Ceren 

Ceren Solak Yilmaz is a senior sustainability professional with 15 years of experience in corporate sustainability and sustainable finance. She currently serves as Senior Manager on the Sustainable Fixed Income Research team at Morningstar Sustainalytics, where she contributes to the development of standards and guidance for Second Party Opinion services with a focus on credibility, impact, and alignment with global frameworks such as the ICMA Principles and the EU Taxonomy. Previously, she was Head of Sustainable Finance at a major bank in Türkiye, where she supported corporates in developing ESG strategies, structuring innovative financing solutions, and aligning portfolios with climate goals. Ceren has also led key initiatives in sustainability reporting, stakeholder engagement, and policy development through active participation in platforms such as UNEP FI, UNGC, and WBCSD.
