![]() Chris is a director at Cavenwell Group, where he works with a diverse range of wealth management professionals, supporting clients ranging from multi-generational High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net worth (UHNW) families to digital entrepreneurs around the world. Chris also works with private banks, lawyers, accountants, and other financial services professionals to support them and their clients in protecting their wealth through the efficient use of wealth structuring vehicles. With over 25 years experience in offshore financial services, Chris previously held senior wealth management roles with Barclays Wealth and Santander. During this time, he advised private clients and corporates on a wide range of global investment solutions to meet their often-complex needs. With a deep understanding of geopolitical and economic dynamics, Chris helped clients to navigate the ever-changing international wealth structuring environment, whilst maximising tax efficiency of their position. Additionally, Chris was the Chief Executive of Jersey International Business School and then Managing Director of BPP, specialising in the education of offshore financial services. Chris is a non-executive director at the School of International Financial Services (SIFS), a leading provider of training and education in 15 jurisdictions around the world. Chris has trained over 6,000 people in qualifications for the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) in wealth management and is a well-regarded member of the Institute. He also serves on the committee of the Channel Islands Wealth Managers Association and is a member of the Institute of Directors. ![]() Alex is Chair of the Institute of Directors Jersey branch and sits on the Board of Governors of Victoria College and its preparatory school. Alex is also a director at Oben Regulatory. Prior to the establishment of Oben, Alex spent most of her career in practice with two of the big four accountancy firms. Choosing to specialise in forensic accounting and regulatory consulting she held a senior position in Deloitte’s Reorganisation, Forensic and Regulatory Services department. Throughout this period, she worked closely with financial services businesses and their legal advisers in relation to financial irregularities, controls and governance matters. The broad spectrum of engagements undertaken included the appointment as reporting professional and co-signatories on the instruction of the JFSC, in addition to assisting law firms in respect of complex investigations such as fraudulently altered and incomplete records, or indeed in relation to matrimonial matters. At Oben, Alex assists financial services businesses to find bespoke solutions to regulatory issues working closely with board members and key persons. She is well versed in assisting businesses strengthen their governance framework and control environment and presents a pragmatic approach to corporate governance issues. Alex has considerable experience with AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions issues, policies and procedures, fraud and asset-tracing and providing litigation support, including assisting her colleagues in the law firm with accounting matters. She also delivers effective training for a range of audiences from board to more bespoke training and also to employees in relation to the embedding of new controls. Alex is regularly appointed to the role of reporting professional, inspector and skilled person by regulatory authorities in relation to trust company businesses, fund services businesses and insurance businesses. This often comprises the review of complex structures and opining on compliance with the relevant legal and regulatory regime. She has also assisted clients subject to enforcement action supporting Oben Law. She regularly assists financial services businesses with designing remediation plans, undertaking remedial actions and is often instructed to perform validation exercises post remediation. |

![]() Joe commenced his professional life in the banking sector, rising to the position of CEO of Jersey and the Isle of Man for a major bank, which included responsibilities for trusts and investments. In recent years, he expanded his focus as Director of Financial Services within the Government of Jersey, where he worked closely with industry and regulator to ensure the island’s position as a leading international finance centre. Before joining Jersey Finance in February 2019, Joe was working to establish high-reputation regulatory frameworks and business models for IFCs in the Middle East and Africa. He is a board director of the World Alliance of International Finance Centers (WAIFC). |

![]() Jill Britton is the Director General at the Jersey financial Services Commission (JFSC). In her role, Jill is responsible for leading the JFSC in its day-to-day operations as both regulator and registry, and ensuring the organisations delivers its strategic priorities. Jill was the Executive Director of Supervision between May 2016 and September 2021. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing the regulation of Jersey’s financial services industry and the supervision of other sectors for anti-money laundering and terrorist financing. She initially worked in our Supervision team from 2002 to 2004. Jill has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry in the UK, Jersey and Asia, having specialised in compliance and operational risk management for global banking organisations. She was the Chief Risk Officer for Coutts Asia between 2009 and 2011 and the Head of Operational Risk for South East Asia at Standard Chartered between 2011 and 2013. At the end of 2013 she became the Head of Risk and then Head of Compliance for UBS AG in Jersey. Jill is passionate about learning and development and mentors a number of talented women to supporting them in fulfilling their potential. Jill holds a BA (Hons) in Financial Services. |

![]() Elaine was elected as one of four deputies for the district of St John, St Lawrence and Trinity in June 2022. She was appointed as Minister for Social Security and Assistant Minister for Treasury and Resources in July 2022. Elaine also took on the roles of Assistant Chief Minister with responsibility for Financial Services (from May 2023) and Vice-Chair of the States Employment Board (from November 2023). In January 2024, Elaine was appointed as the Minister for Treasury and Resources and appointed as the Assistant Minister for External Relations and Financial Services. |

![]() Helen was appointed as Director of Financial and Professional Services in October 2024, having previously headed up the Financial Services Directorate and worked in both the Government of Jersey’s Financial Services Policy and Financial Crime Strategy Teams, providing broad experience of the policy and legislative agenda relevant to the financial services sector. Helen was called to the Bar in 2009 and admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 2012. Prior to joining Government, she worked for a leading offshore law firm and more recently, Jersey Finance. |

![]() Prior to becoming a director of Oben, Nicola served nearly 18 years as a regulatory supervisor at the Jersey Financial Services Commission. She worked in the Investment Business division, Enforcement, Funds (dealing with funds and fund services businesses) and in heightened supervision dealing with a myriad of issues in differing types of businesses facing challenging regulatory circumstances. She has also undertaken many regulatory examinations of different regulatory and market sectors. Nicola has considerable experience working with businesses that have had deficiencies in systems and controls and where there have been material conduct risk issues. She has the skills to routinely identify, analyse and advise businesses on regulatory issues and the course of action to strengthen their governance, operating and control environment. Having a depth of expertise dealing with complex structures and challenging regulatory issues she is adept at understanding the root cause and finding solutions. This often means working with board members, senior leadership and key persons to addressing issues of corporate governance, and conveying a clear understanding to participants which then enables practices and controls to work effectively. |
