Stephen is a Partner, Advocate, and the Practice Leader of the Jersey Litigation practice at Mourant. He regularly advises on a broad range of multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes, with particular expertise in contentious private wealth and trust matters, partnership and investment fund disputes, and corporate liquidations and reorganisations. Stephen is qualified in England & Wales, the Cayman Islands, and Jersey. As Practice Leader for Litigation, Stephen leads the team across all aspects of management, business development, training, profile raising, and strategic growth. He is an active member of Jersey’s business community. A qualified Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Trusts and Estate Practitioner (TEP), Stephen serves as Chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in Jersey. He also sits on the Legal and Regulatory Committee of the Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts (ARIES), the STEP Main Committee and Technical Sub-Committee. Additionally, he is a standing member of the Law Society of Jersey Committee, the regulatory body for Jersey’s legal profession. Stephen delivers regular training to the Jersey financial services sector and to onshore firms. He also represents the Channel Islands as Country Co-Ordinator for INSOL Europe. A strong advocate for workplace equality and inclusion, Stephen is the Local Office Sponsor of Mourant’s employee-led Inclusion Network.

Kiara is a Senior Associate in the Jersey Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, where she works on a broad range of commercial disputes with a particular focus on trust litigation. She completed the Jersey Law Course and was sworn in as a solicitor of the Royal Court in 2022. Kiara was educated in Jersey before studying Law at the University of York. She spent 18 months working as a Paralegal in the Funds team at Mourant, followed by an in-house role at a private equity firm in New York City. She returned to Jersey in 2018, joining another local law firm before taking up her current role at Mourant in 2022. |
