Giovanni is an Associate Director in the Advisory team at KPMG Islands Group, based in The Bahamas. He joined the Advisory team in January 2023 in the Cayman Islands, following five years in Jersey in a similar role. Giovanni began his career in tax in Italy, working with KPMG Italy and later PwC Italy, where he advised on Italian direct and indirect taxes. After rejoining tax practice in 2015, he increasingly specialised in Automatic Exchange of Information, including FATCA, CRS and Country-by-Country Reporting. Since the introduction of CRS in 2016, Giovanni has developed extensive experience advising clients across multiple jurisdictions on FATCA and CRS compliance, including health checks and large-scale reporting projects for US asset managers. In 2019, he was seconded to Revenue Jersey for six months, supporting the International Tax team with analysis of alternative FATCA/CRS penalty regimes. Giovanni also advises on wider tax matters across the Cayman Islands, Bahamas and BVI, including Pillar Two implementation, economic substance, stamp duty, and due diligence and restructuring projects. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ACA) and the Project Management Institute (PMP). |
