Peter Capper 

Peter joined Northern Trust in May 2025. Peter’s role is based in the London, where he is be responsible for supporting the team by analysing and assessing the impact of new and emerging regulation and global initiatives relating to investment funds on Northern Trust’s clients whilst also providing regulatory consultancy support. 

Peter has worked in the industry for 24 years working in the financial services industry and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Prior to joining NT, Peter was a Senior Adviser at the Investment Association (IA), assisting its members on UK, European and international fund regulatory developments, along with representing the IA on several Committees and Working Groups at the European Funds and Asset Management Association (EFAMA). Peter led the IA’s work on developing the UK’s Long-Term Asset Fund (LTAF) and chaired a sub-group of the Bank of England and FCA’s joint Productive Finance Working Group, which sought to remove barriers to pension funds investing in private assets. Peter also led the IA’s work on the Overseas Funds Regime, the Assessment of Value, the AIFMD/UCITS review and Money Market Funds. Peter has presented and been a panellist at several industry conferences, including the International Bar Association (IBA)’s 2024 Asset Management Industry Conference in Boston, and has appeared in several publications including ETF Stream, Funds Europe and Ignites.
