The Post Office Scandal: Lessons in governance and culture for financial services firms

Description

The Post Office Horizon scandal has been described by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as the worst miscarriage of justice to have happened in the UK. Between 1999-2015 over 900 sub postmasters were convicted of theft, fraud, false accounting; some went to prison, many were made bankrupt and 4 took their own lives due to the shame and stress involved. There are many lessons that can be learnt from this scandal for those in management roles within the regulated financial services industry. In this session, Rupert will provide an update from his session in March, particularly on the recent evidence given in the ongoing public inquiry on governance and culture and what we can learn from that.
