What is Money Laundering?

Money laundering disguises the origins of illicit funds, making them appear legitimate. It is often integral to broader criminal operations.

 

What is the Money Laundering Cycle?

Money laundering is traditionally described in terms of ‘The Money Laundering Cycle’. You may already be familiar with the conventional money laundering cycle which usually divides the money laundering process into three principal phases.

DIFC AML Obligations

Firms in the DIFC are subject to the DFSA AML Rulebook and the DIFC Regulatory Law 2004. Firms must ensure staff complete AML training annually. This course is aligned with the DFSA’s requirements for risk-based AML/CFT compliance.
