By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Explain the importance of Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) transparency in preventing money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, and sanctions evasion

Identify the main concealment techniques used to obscure ownership and control, including complex layering, circular ownership, nominee arrangements, trusts, and bearer shares

Assess how individuals manipulate ownership thresholds (e.g. sub-25% holdings) and use governance rights, debt instruments, or proxies to retain control

Recognise and interpret red flags that signal suspicious ownership or control, applying them in real-world scenarios and cumulative risk assessments

Apply a risk-based approach by escalating, investigating, and using Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) appropriately in higher-risk cases
